430 Stainless Steel

Alloy 430 Stainless Steel is a somewhat corrosion resistant stainless steel alloy with properties that make it a good choice for use outdoors in situations where corrosive agents are not present.

430 stainless is a Chrome-Steel alloy, and can be magnetized. 430 stainless is a good material for automotive, industrial MRO, and other applications where corrosion resistance is not critical. It is a less expensive alternative to the 3 00-series stainlesses in applications where cost is a significant factor and the environment is mild.

430 stainless clamps are commonly available with zinc chromate plated screws, which further reduces their overall corrosion resistance, while at the same time reducing their cost.
